The West Indies 4 day championship is meant to start next month but we have not had any official confirmation from Cricket West Indies
With the new structure (same 2 teams play each other 3 times) you wonder if the late announcement is to minimise the inevitable cuss out
In the last 6 months we have seen the following decisions made by CWI:
Men and Women's Super50 dramatically reduced
Womens 1st Test since 2004 cancelled
Mens regional season reduced to 3 rounds
Surely ICC needs to release emergency funds if the situation is this dire?
The ICC, & by ICC I mean the remaining countries not caught up in the India-Bangladesh-Pakistan d*ck measuring contest, could use this moment to band together & say another way to run cricket is possible
OR
Let the BCCI dictate to the ICC and the rest of us what happens next
A few months ago Santokie and I buss a big joke that a part time man in a shop can score a 50 or century and make a West Indies squad these days.
We thought we were joking.
I'm very intrigued by Barbadian batter Eboni Braithwaite.
The standout bat in the T20 Blaze at the moment. 17 years old & a junior athlete for Barbados (Bronze Javelin in Carifta Games).
Gonna watch her progress carefully. Hayley & Deandra need to take her under their tutelage
Have English cricket and media ever wondered if they should stop looking at everything through an Ashes prism?
Focus on beating all teams then an Ashes win will follow by rote.
If you can't beat West Indies away you're unlikely to be able to pitch up and beat Australia
Havent watched one ball of ILT20, Big Bash, BPL or SA20.
Just dont have the capacity to take in all the mindless hitting - it's cricket for the sake of cricket at this stage.

Let's be honest this Melbourne Test between Australia and England was real Tier 2 quality
If West Indies and Bangladesh played a 2 day Test match with this level of poor batting...the whole of the Cricketing world would be calling for us to be removed from Test cricket
Lunch: West Indies 99/5
A disappointing end to the tour and test match.
I guess we've seen once again why this side will always be a work in progress.
From the unexpected over performance to the ridiculous. It's why we are a bottom ranked side, we struggle to find consistency.
There has already been calls in the media for Shallow to resign so I would expect those to ramp up over the next few days
With Shallow not standing for re-election in 2028 it also means people will start politicking now for the position
I am convinced that one of the reasons a two division test championship with promotion and relegation wasn't considered is cos India and England are both currently crap.
