WHY ARE WE SENDING PROTEST TRUCKS FOR JISUNG?

Recently, malicious and defamatory videos and posts about NCT DREAM’s Jisung have been getting more attention and reaching people outside the fandom.

You may have also seen that Jisung Bar is currently sending protest trucks to call for action and protection for Jisung. Fanbases and fans from around the world are also standing together in support of this effort.

We want to explain the situation for those who may be seeing these claims for the first time and help people understand why fans are taking action now.

First, the scandalous claims being spread about Jisung are FALSE. They are malicious and defamatory claims that have been repeatedly made against him for years and should not be treated as facts.

WHO IS BEHIND THIS?
For around 8 years, Korean fans have been aware of an individual who has repeatedly targeted Jisung and other NCT DREAM members.

This person has created multiple accounts, including accounts with usernames similar to those of real fans, and uses them to spread hateful, malicious, and defamatory content about Jisung. This includes uploading videos and posts, as well as using different accounts to leave comments spreading false claims about Jisung on YouTube.

These comments are not limited to fanmade videos. This person has also posted such comments under official videos, meaning people who are simply watching official NCT DREAM or Jisung content can encounter these false claims in the comment section.

The same person has also posted death threats and made insulting claims on Weverse. This is especially concerning because Weverse is one of the main spaces where Jisung interacts and communicates with his fans.

Korean fans have also shared that this person has previously exposed the personal information of fans who spoke up against them, and some fans have taken legal action over this.

Importantly, this issue has also been reported through SM Entertainment's official KWANGYA 119 system.

In a post released several months ago, SM Entertainment stated that legal action was being taken against accounts reported for violating the rights of its artists. Among the X accounts listed in the post was @.js25yongtwt1, an account associated with this individual.

However, even after SM Entertainment's post, this individual has continued to create and use other accounts to spread malicious content targeting Jisung.

This is therefore not a recent issue or a reaction to something Jisung recently did. Korean fans have been dealing with this person's repeated attempts to defame Jisung and damage his name and image for around 8 years.

WHAT IS BEING CLAIMED ABOUT JISUNG?
The content goes far beyond ordinary criticism. The videos make or imply various claims about Jisung, including that he has “borderline intellectual disability” or displays behavior associated with it, that he is unable to dance or cannot follow choreography properly, and that he has poor or problematic behavior toward his older members.

The videos also portray him as being rude or disrespectful toward his members, becoming irritated or aggressive toward them, lying or shifting blame onto others, having poor driving ability, and behaving inappropriately during livestreams. Normal interactions, jokes, mistakes, or moments with his members are also taken out of context or edited in ways that make him appear problematic.

Some of the videos also make more serious and completely false accusations, claiming that Jisung received sexual favors from staff, photographers, directors, choreographers, or producers in exchange for things such as more lines, choreography changes, or additional screentime. These accusations are also presented within the videos as if they were true.

These accusations are false and defamatory. They are being used to create a negative image of Jisung and damage his name and public image.

HOW IS THIS CONTENT REACHING MORE PEOPLE?
The malicious content is primarily being uploaded as YouTube Shorts.

These Shorts are no longer only being seen by people who already follow Jisung or NCT DREAM. Some are being recommended to YouTube users who are not even interested in idols or K-pop, allowing the content to reach people who have no background knowledge about Jisung.

The reach of these Shorts is also significant. Multiple videos have received tens or hundreds of thousands of views, with some reaching over 1 million views, despite being uploaded by accounts with very small subscriber counts.

The problem is also visible when people actively search for Jisung. When searching “NCT 지성” on YouTube, these malicious Shorts can appear near the top of the search results. This means that even someone who simply wants to learn more about Jisung may immediately encounter defamatory content about him.

HOW HAS THIS AFFECTED SEARCH SUGGESTIONS?
The spread of this content has also affected search suggestions.

On YouTube, searching for NCT 지성 has been showing “NCT 지성 논란”, which means “NCT Jisung controversy.”

On Naver, searches for NCT 지성 and 엔시티 지성 have been showing words such as 경계선, 경지, and 경계성, which are terms related to intellectual disability.

This is especially worrying now because Jisung is getting more attention from the general public through his variety show appearances and his upcoming drama.

People who are discovering Jisung for the first time may search his name and encounter these defamatory Shorts or search suggestions before they know anything about him.

A MESSAGE TO THOSE SEEING THIS
The content currently circulating does not tell the full story.

These claims did not come from a recent incident involving Jisung. They are part of around 8 years of repeated attempts to defame and damage Jisung’s name and image by the same individual, using multiple accounts to upload content and spread the same claims across videos, posts, and comment sections.

This is why Jisung Bar is taking action through protest trucks, with fanbases and fans around the world standing behind them and joining in support of Jisung. We are calling attention to this ongoing issue and asking for better protection for Jisung.

We are sharing this information because the content has already reached people outside the fandom. We do not want people who are unfamiliar with Jisung to see these claims and mistake them for facts.

Please do not spread, watch, or engage with the malicious content, as this can give it even more views and reach. If you see someone who is genuinely asking about the situation, please share the proper context instead.

The accusations being spread about Jisung are false. Please do not judge Jisung based on defamatory content created to target him.

We are now calling on SM Entertainment to take strong legal action against this individual and to properly protect Jisung from continued malicious and defamatory attacks.
