If you believe free speech is for you but not your political opponents, you're illiberal.
If no contrary evidence could change your beliefs, you're a fundamentalist.
If you believe the state should punish those with contrary views, you're a totalitarian.
If you believe political opponents should be punished with violence or death, you're a terrorist.
Given that your last two suggested changes were ‘“Yeah,” Said Strike’ and ‘her bright orange, tan’, no, Copilot, I will not require your assistance to draft this paragraph.
Man encourages other men to enter women’s single-sex bathrooms and changing rooms because, he says, men like him have a right to be there if they want to be, no matter what the law says or how women feel about it.
@hermionegingol1 Genuinely hope they do. Given the Good Law Project’s success rate, they’ll probably end up not only banned from all women’s spaces but on the hook for punitive damages.
@legaltweetz He once claimed he knew I’d sent flowers to some American conservative I’d never heard of. Maybe, in his fantasy world, he’s friends with my favourite florist.
🚨🚨 Parliamentary scrutiny of the draft Conversion Practices Bill begins tomorrow.
This Bill is a blatant assault on free speech and religious freedom.
Unlike previous versions of similar legislation, it contains no carve-out for important conversations between parents and gender-confused children.
This sinister legislation could criminalise well-intentioned conversations between parents and children, as well as therapists’ work and religious leaders sharing their faith’s teachings with their congregations.
Parents could face up to five years in prison for trying to dissuade their children from embarking on life-changing, irreversible and potentially dangerous medical pathways.
We must defeat this Bill. The state has no business policing conversations around the family dinner table. If passed, this legislation could tear families apart and harm the very people the Government claims it wants to protect.

Don't cry, Baba. 😔💔
Hours before his execution, Alireza Raeisi was allowed one final phone call from Dastgerd Prison in Isfahan. His father was crying on the line. So Alireza, with hours left to live, tried to comfort the man who raised him.
"What can I do, Baba. They want to take my whole life from me."
Then he asked for one last message:
"Say hello to my uncle. Tell him I'm looking after Ramin over there."
Ramin was his cousin. The son of that same uncle. He was shot dead in the streets of Isfahan during the protests. Now the regime has hanged the other one. At dawn. In secret.
This is what the Islamic Republic calls justice: 18 days of torture. Electric shocks. A forced confession. A trial lasting minutes. An appeal thrown out in less than 48 hours. A gallows built beside a Revolutionary Guard executioner.
They think the rope will end the uprising. The rope is only creating more anger towards society.
When I talk to any of the family members of those who are in prison on the death road, they have a simple demand: tel the world: #StopExecutionsInIran, demand accountability for these unlawful executions. Sanction the judges and executioners. Silence is complicity.

International Day of the Girl Child, But What Is There to Celebrate for Afghan Girls?
Every day, I receive heartbreaking messages from inside Afghanistan about girls facing forced marriage, child marriage, mental health struggles, and other forms of suffering. Meanwhile, millions of girls are denied their fundamental right to education, freedom, and the opportunity to build their own futures.
For Afghan girls, this is not just a day of celebration. It is a reminder of a continuing injustice.
I call on the United Nations and the international community to stop treating engagement with the Taliban as progress while Afghan girls remain excluded from classrooms.
Dialogue must bring real change, accountability, and the restoration of fundamental rights.

@JohnBoyne I didn’t cry. I felt slightly stunned. I got up and went to close the curtains, because it was 2am or something, and I saw a tabby cat sitting on the wall outside my flat. I gasped and turned cold all over my body. True story.
Today I've been writing a really sad chapter that made me cry several times, but every time I cried I pulled myself together and went back in to make sure it's exactly as sad as I need it to be, so I suppose Graham Greene had a point about the splinter of ice.
In fairness, there are loads of videos of gender critical people saying the equivalent about trans-identified people. They just cunningly disguise their incitement to murder as ‘we don’t want men in women’s changing rooms.’
Knowing the right jargon makes people without much critical thinking ability feel clever and impresses people who're similarly short on analytical skills. It doesn't require much intelligence to memories slogans and trendy words. Ask any parrot. Or, indeed, Stella Creasy.
@maninpeakedcap My general experience of committed gender ideologues is of intellectual arrogance and moral vanity. They can't fathom why what's so obvious to them isn't accepted uncritically by the masses. Clearly, the masses must be too stupid to understand, or too full of hate to comply.
The patronising woman who is the editor of @bbcwomanshour on @bbcradio4 just now saying that listeners 'over 60' do not understand 'terminology' around sex and gender…
One of the problems the bbc has in general is it doesn't respect its (current) audiences.
