Illinois commit Quinton Kitt is leaving East Peoria to play for Monarch Academy in Missouri.

The 6-foot-7 wing averaged 22.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 1.0 blocks as East Peoria won a school-record 29 games and a Class 3A regional.

The 2016 Peoria Christian graduate becomes the fourth coach in program history, having served as an assistant for four seasons under Jason Persinger.

For the first time in team history, Morton girls soccer is headed to state.

The Potters beat Waterloo 5-2 in their 2A super-sectional. Morton led 2-0 at halftime before Waterloo tied it in the span of 12 minutes, but the Potters had an emphatic response.

NEWS: Peoria Christian has named Andrew Parmenter as the school’s new boys basketball head coach.

Formerly a JV coach with the school, Parmenter succeeds 7-year head coach Jason Persinger, who led the team to 6 straight regional titles.

JUST IN: Eddie Mathews will returns as the Limestone boys basketball head coach.

He had spent 9 seasons with the Rockets highlighted by a 2013 Class 3A state third-place finish. He's been an assistant coach for the last six seasons.

East Peoria head basketball coach Jarrett Brown has confirmed Raiders 3-year basketball star Quinton Kitt is transferring to a prep school for his senior year of high school basketball. I will certainly miss covering the Illini recruit, but I wish Quinton all the best.

JUST IN: Willie Coleman has resigned as the Limestone boys basketball head coach.

In four seasons, Coleman went 33-84 overall and 13-43 in Mid-Illini Conference play. The Rockets went 9-20 and 3-11 in the Mid-Illini this season.

The best team in Marist history finishes it off with a state championship, beating ESCC rival Benet 44-28. The postseason run by the RedHawks was so impressive, including two dominant performances in Champaign. Marist wins title game and semis by a combined 33 points.
