JKPDP President & former CM Ms. @MehboobaMufti has expressed shock over the devastating fire in Mungli, Warwan.

Nearly two years after Chief Minister @OmarAbdullah promised fire stations & fire tenders for Warwan & Marwah following the 2024 blaze, the valley is burning again.

She has sought immediate assessment of losses, compensation be disbursed without delay for affected families and pre-fabricated temporary shelters before the harsh winter sets in.

The government must explain the status of the 2024 assurances and urgently ensure a reliable firefighting & emergency response mechanism for Warwan and Marwah.

Today, Indian strategic thinking needs to look beyond the immediate constraints posed by the Line of Control with Pakistan and the Line of Actual Control with China. Where political and security conditions permit, India needs a pragmatic framework to gradually restore Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh to the role they historically occupied that of a bridge connecting South Asia with Central Asia and the wider Eurasian landmass.

Party President Ms @MehboobaMufti has expressed deep grief over the tragic road accident at Semari, Teetwal in Karnah, in which five persons have reportedly lost their lives and several others have been injured.

She urged the administration to ensure immediate and specialised medical care for all the injured, with those requiring advanced treatment shifted to Srinagar without any delay.

Ms Mehbooba Mufti also called for an immediate assessment of the losses and adequate compensation to the bereaved families and injured persons at the earliest. She expressed her heartfelt condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones and prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured.
