Shubhra Sharma, Mission Director of the Jammu and Kashmir Rural Livelihoods Mission (JKRLM), says, "Our department is executing some of the Government of India’s schemes, of which the Umeed scheme is the most important, and a large number of women are connected with it. If I talk about the numbers, we have around 90,000 Self-Help Groups, with approximately 7.5 lakh households and women, associated with these groups. Our focus is on working in rural areas, particularly in border areas, to empower women..."
