You ever notice how cancel culture only targets the non-compliant?
John Torode gets fired in 2025 for something he allegedly said in a bar back in 2017 — something he already apologized for, and doesn’t even remember?
Meanwhile, BBC execs who greenlit decades of protected predators? Still have pensions. Still get book deals.
This isn’t about justice. It’s about obedience.
The real game is reputational assassination — but selectively enforced. If you’re useful, they forget. If you deviate, they remember everything.
And this kind of post-facto punishment? It mirrors old intelligence tactics: discredit, isolate, erase. Some of those early MI5 training docs actually use the phrase: “social revocation for control.”
Ask yourself — who decides which sins get recycled?
And more importantly… who’s keeping the archive?

@JKTanytime@guernseyliz14@BBCGuernsey@islandfm@BBCGuernsey It seems they dumped their traditional audience for a hotch potch of badly scheduled music and poorly delivered speech with at times dreadful diction. People have voted with the “off switch”.
Serious question, as @bbcguernsey audience figures withers on the vine is there anyone at the BBC interested in improving the truly appalling output that I am listening to today.
