@alexisxstetic @BatwoMANDA It has been a ride. I'm so glad the MFA is done. The end was really hard, but I've learned tons, and I'm grateful. Now, I'm building an editing company. I'm giving it a marketing edge to help authors more, and I'm trying to tackle the exclusionary issue of affordability.

@alexisxstetic @BatwoMANDA I'm doing alright. Got through the MFA and graduated in June. Then, I had a few setbacks in my personal life that kept me off of social media because I had to heal. I'm still on a bit of a journey in that regard. Now, I'm getting on with an editing career. How have you been?

@Into_the_Never I'm so sorry that's the case. This is actually one of the reasons I wanted to tackle affordability as an obstacle because I realized one day how much less likely disabled people are to be competitively published. We're inadvertently silencing all those voices and perspectives.

@LeroyMcSquishy @ask_aubry Businesses that "can't afford" to pay their employees living wages don't deserve to be in business. Being in business isn't a right; it's a privilege. Not all businesses make it, and that's life. This goes triple if the CEO or founder makes millions or billions per year.

@Into_the_Never Excellent! I'm glad you're getting a gentle intro to the experience. That can make a huge difference in the long run. I'm still trying to think up creative ways to make editing more affordable for people. I know that's a huge barrier for authors, especially in the beginning.

@Into_the_Never If you hire an editor with a good combination of education and experience, it can be rewarding. I've loved trading edits and critiques with old classmates. Are you waiting to finish up a book before approaching one or just trying to find someone you want to work with?
