@RealBeaMao@RonaldBalimwezo This is the maturity we need in our Politics, Most of our Leaders now spend their time tring to frustrate each others instead of coming together to sort societal challenges.
@GodwinTOKO Unfortunately our People arw conditioned to think that when someone from their region holds a big office then it will change their lives. Bure Kabisa.
Uganda Politics has manifested itself by rejecting the best today. Our motherland needed @norbertmao after what transpired in the 11th Parliament. The 12th Parliament won't offer as much. I'm sorry.
Very Proud of you @norbertmao and @RealBeaMao for all the support.
We move on!
@norbertmao He has his name written in the right book of history after nominating the best Candidate for the job. Very proud of Hon Okot Peter and Hon Onguti Patrick Okello
@KakwenzaRukira@norbertmao In the context of Uganda Politics , he should have got only 6. Our Politics doesn'y appreciate the best and that is why the best Candidate got the least votes.
Despite the tyranny of numbers that overwhelmed us, we declare that ours was not a numerical challenge but a moral challenge. We took up a fight everyone was cowering from and faced attacks from many quarters including from friends blinded by short term considerations. Many counseled me to throw in the towel fearing the outcome of the ballot. When the counting started, one MP told me that due to strict partisan voting I would be lucky to get ten votes. I put my seat on the line by telling him that if I got less than ten votes I would resign from Parliament. That aside, despite the opposition we faced, the fight was worthwhile. Thanks to the power of outrage fueled by many patriots, Parliament can breathe again. Our collective efforts brought a gush of fresh air in Parliament.
I’m in the race to the end. I will not join the wave of withdrawals. Months ago, like a soldier armed with nothing but a razor blade, I stormed the Bastille and with small consistent cuts secured a vital win for all the anti-corruption forces. How? By shaking the throne amidst opposition from the praise singers of Jezebel we forced the hand of powerful people to act in tandem with the sentiments of an outraged population. The cause for which I declared my candidature for the Position of Speaker of Parliament is an enduring cause. It doesn’t end with the casting of the vote tomorrow. I have crossed the Rubicon. Let the chips fall where they will. God is not deaf. God is not blind. God is not dumb. He hears, He sees and He speaks. God Bless the 12th Parliament. God Bless Uganda.
