Last night Hubbard ISD held its inaugural education foundation event at the Lake Waco Golf Club. This community continues to pour into everything we do. Last night we raised over $40,000 to go directly back into the classrooms and educator professional development.

Held a superintendent “lunch and learn” today at the secondary campus. It’s great to provide a space for all staff to sit and talk about the state of our district. The bonus was being able to provide them lunch. Go Jaguars!

Today at Hubbard ES we held parent conferences. This is something I’m told hasn’t happened in the past or at least as long as some can remember. Parents are a vital link in a child’s education. Glad to be able to build that connection. Go Jags!

Here I stand with the essay and art contestant winners who paid tribute to the victims, first responders, and military personnel who either lost their lives and/or fought for our freedom.

Today at Hubbard ISD, we commemorated the lives of the 2,977 victims and countless members of the military and first responders of the attacks on 9/11/2001. Proud to serve in a community that takes pride in the USA and doesn’t forget those who make our very freedom possible.

Had a chance to observe Coach Berry this morning with a Pe class. It’s not often an AD dedicates time to those not in a sport. This type of time investment from the AD/Head Football coach lets these students know they matter. All kids matter at Hubbard ISD!

Yesterday, I observed classes with a board member. I want my board to see first hand the great work at Hubbard ISD. It brings me great joy to see the students interacting with the technology and taking ownership of the learning.

All around my office I have chart paper with classroom “look-fors.” The inside circle is what we want to see in every classroom. Day 2 involves finding themes to create our classroom look for document that will be up in every classroom. Teaching and learning drives Hubbard ISD!

New Teacher Orientation was a success today at HISD! In a time of teacher shortages, these outstanding educators answered the call for our kids and community. I couldn’t be more proud to lead them into the 23-24 school year. Go Jags!
