Just possibly witnessed a Karen moment at the Indy 500. A guy was blowing an air horn in the grandstands. Not excessive, only hit it twice. It’s loud yes, but were at a racetrack. Karen told him to stop hitting it because it hurts her ears 😂 #indy500
@dirkb82 Thank you! Not like a huge Indy car follower, but work on race cars myself so I was just curious. Goes against “regular” racing. I was like I feel like they are scrubbing some speed by snaking around like that. Make total scene though!
Indy 500 question: it always puzzled me on how on the back and front stretch the drivers “snake” down to the bottom then shot back towards the wall before entry of the turn. Why? Shorter distance? Aero? Something else? #indy500
Just received a statement from Kyle Busch's family on the cause of his death:
"The medical evaluation provided to the Busch Family concluded that severe pneumonia progressed into sepsis, resulting in rapid and overwhelming associated complications.
"The Family asks for continued understanding and privacy during this difficult time."
Richard Childress Racing has elected to suspend use of the No. 8 and will run the No. 33 at Charlotte Motor Speedway and beyond. Kyle Busch was instrumental in the design of RCR’s stylized No. 8 and it has become synonymous with Kyle and an important symbol for his fans and the NASCAR industry. No one can carry it forward to the level that he did. The No. 8 is reserved and ready for Brexton Busch when he is ready to go NASCAR racing.
absolutely think it would be great if NASCAR fans supported the @bundleofjoyfund it’s a charity created by Samantha and kyle busch and provides monetary grants for in-need couples struggling with infertility and the costs associated with IVF treatment.
We are saddened and heartbroken to share the news of the passing of Kyle Busch, a two-time Cup champion and one of our sport's greatest and fiercest drivers. He was 41 years old.
We extend our deepest condolences to the Busch family, Richard Childress Racing and the entire motorsports community.
EVENT UPDATE: Due to the impacts of historic winter weather across the North Carolina region, the #CookOutClash has been rescheduled to Wednesday, Feb. 4.
NASCAR is continuing to work closely with the City of Winston-Salem and NC Department of Transportation. We appreciate your patience as we work toward hosting a safe event.
