I thought The Furious was great. The final fight had so much choreography I need to do a rewatch. Fights were crisp, well choreographed, and super inventive.
Do I think it lives up to the hype? Yes and no. I think it definitely has some of the best fight scenes involving multiple people ever put on screen but I don’t know if it lives up to the hype as the best fight film since “The Raid”. I use the bar of how many times I break out in spontaneous laughter at a bonkers fight scene and I did it I think twice in the film. Super precise system 😄. Maybe subsequent views will soften that stance.
All and all solid outing. Go see it and see it multiple times. @christye156111
Matt Damon says Clint Eastwood gave him one take after six months of accent work and called a second take a waste of time
"I spent six months... 9 to 5 Monday through Friday, we would work on this accent because South African is really hard to do"
"I showed up ready... it's my chance to work with one of my heroes, and the very first take he goes, cut, print, move on"
"I go, hang on boss, you wanna do another one? and he goes, why, you wanna waste everybody's time?"
@honyediekeson Movie is still awesome. Love the campiness of it, and seeing Lundgren yell I HAVE THE POWER still gives me goosebumps after nearly 40 years.
