It was a night in March 1976 when the British Army's SAS regiment crossed the border - allegedly - between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

Wanted IRA Terrorist commander & Gary Glitter lookalike, Sean McKenna, was asleep in his home in the border town of Edentober, Co Louth, Éire.

The SAS - allegedly - seized McKenna and took him back over the border into Northern Ireland to be officially arrested by another British Army patrol.

Obviously Gary Glitter... I mean McKenna... wasn't too happy about this, and the Irish Government in the Republic was not too happy about it either as they seen it as a violation of their sovereignty with British Forces conducting an armed operation on foreign soil.

I suppose we might have understood their anger had it not been for the fact that they regularly harboured Irish Republican Terrorists like the IRA, who they also refused to extradite to the UK/Northern Ireland.

It didn't matter to the Éire government that these IRA Terrorists bombed, shot, murdered & maimed many innocent men, women & children.

It also later came to light that the Éire authorities had colluded with IRA Terrorists.
