Families thrive when they are supported, not surveilled. Yesterday, families, domestic violence survivors, children’s rights leaders, reproductive justice advocates, public defenders, & mandated reporters called for an end to mandatory reporting at a rally & NYS Assembly hearing.
You don’t want to miss this conversation. Professor Spinak will share with the audience what is prompting her to tell the truth about family court now. @JMacForFamilies
The State of NY has created a Family crisis in NY. Come with us to Albany on January 9th, to tell our legislators to Pass Miranda for Families NOW! https://t.co/67Qsw2JZ0X
If you understand and care about children having the right to know their family, medical history etc. call your local Assembly-person and Senator and tell them to override the Governors veto-call today and ask your friends and family members to call too.
This legislation has passed both houses (Senate and Assembly) 3 times. The Governor’s refusal to sign it into law is a clear indication that families impacted by forced separation’s in NYS, don’t matter to her and black children having a connection to their roots is meaningless.
Parents are completely tired of being frisked by the family police (ACS)-having their homes invaded, children stripped searched etc. @NYCCouncil - must act to protect our rights NOW!!
If you’re a politician who claims to care about a child’s safety-why are you not protecting children from the overreaching arms of mandated reporters and ensuring their parents know their rights? @JMacForFamilies@ForOurBabies76@JabariBrisport@SankofaRose
When a parents rights are terminated a child rights to their entire family, the families roots, medical history etc is also terminated and there can be no contact.This very harmful to the child. https://t.co/dMJ8cgHKAW

https://t.co/ppB8VVdALq it is common practice for the abuses partner to remain under surveillance under the guise of protecting the children from the abuser, even when the abused partner has sought out and received an protection order prior to ACS’s investigation.

At Just Making A Change, we think of home as place where parents are protected from home invasions by CPS agents that torment and traumatize families without court orders or accountability.
@JMacForFamilies

The best medicine for a newborn exposed to a substance is to be near their parent.
We need to #RepealCAPTA and end the criminalization of pregnant and parenting people.
On behalf of a Brooklyn mother and her son, we filed a lawsuit in federal court against the Administration for Children’s Services over its numerous violations of their family’s constitutional rights in its ruthless investigations of baseless reports. https://t.co/P8k23mGpbY
