Crypto has a strange habit: we’ll spend six hours researching a token with a cartoon animal, then spend six seconds thinking about the infrastructure that helped bring it into existence.

My thesis on $MPLX is simple: as Solana’s asset economy grows, the tools that make those assets possible deserve attention.

Metaplex builds infrastructure for creating and managing onchain assets. Its opportunity stretches from collectibles and project tokens to emerging markets for tokenized real-world assets.

The next winning asset is hard to predict. The continued demand to create assets is a different bet.

And there’s a concrete connection to MPLX: under the current policy, 50% of Metaplex protocol fees are converted into MPLX and contributed to the DAO treasury.

Usage generates fees. A portion of those fees funds token purchases. That gives the thesis something more substantial than a guy on X yelling “SEND IT” beside seven rocket emojis.

Everybody wants to discover the next big thing on Solana.

My bet is that helping people build the next big thing could be a business worth watching.

The rocket gets the applause. The launchpad gets used again.

Metaplex is bringing permissioned ownership to Solana with MPL-3643 @metaplex .

The new standard could open the door to NFTs with built-in ownership rules or even mpl-404 NFTs by @MutantLabs_ , including who can hold them, where holders can be located and when assets can be transferred or staked.

Think licensed collectibles, exclusive drops and tokenized assets with issuer-controlled restrictions. In our case, Sole bound NFT booking reservations that dissolve after check out or are staked for holders rewards and company uses.
