This Rogan observation is wrong, using a framework which itself is incorrect. Like saying the sky is red because it's below us and heavier colors fall downwards. This hasn't been a ha-ha funny situation for a few years now.
joe rogan is an experiment in exposing people to higher openness to new experience than 99% of internet rationalists without any of the abstruse jargon
@constans@opinonhaver Eh. Anyone using those words- impure, tainted- in the context of vaccines are gonna be comfortable using them in even worse contexts
And then, of course, everyone's on the default server anyway-- for reasons that are obvious to anyone who's spent an hour on twitter, let alone the founder of Twitter or people who have worked on it-- entirely nixing it's reason for existence, the decentralization. Incredible.
After seeing bluesky it's funny how much of a 1:1 clone it is. Jack the techno-libertarian got bitcoin brain and then... twitter just spins this thing out into a separate entity? And then it gets investment with the pitch deck of "imagine if Twitter didn't have any users?"
@LEBassett Does anyone in NYC with a megaphone want to offer "I will yell whatever you want at Chait" as-a-service? Would rapidly become a line item in my budget
@Forever_Wario To some degree for sure, but I think the provided examples of UFO-theme and bachelorette-specialized are things that basically didn't exist previously.
The actual B&B's I'm familiar with are notable for their proprietor serving you muffins and chilling with you in the AM.
@Forever_Wario There is no Marriott tiny home on a lake with great bird watching, that's not a thing. I don't mind that someone built it for the purpose of renting it out, actually I'm really happy they did!
(Not saying everything is roses, either, hopefully obviously.)
@Forever_Wario "[Instead of unused space, they are becoming bespoke rentals, with a UFO unit and a bachelorette party unit]... In other words, the difference between Airbnb and hotels has become smaller and smaller" is a funny phrasing. The weird ones are what hotels don't do!
