Unequivocally a colossal failure. No vehicle will ever use the bulletproof steel that necessitated the angular, slab look. The finish is really subpar because of the hardened steel. Too many design and manufacturing accommodations were made for this silly "fantasy" feature. It would have been much cheaper to simply have armored the passenger compartment conventionally... if required! What a waste of time and money!
@davidfrum OMG... did you really bring up the past President as a reason why grocery prices are rising... now... some 18 months AFTER he left office? Really???? I guess tariffs, a war that spikes up all input and distribution costs isn't the reason.
@Mpolymer@Microinteracti1 Marc, sadly I think the situation is not recoverable. There was always an ugly underbelly of the US that foreigners did not see. Now, Trump has revealed it for all the world to see, and it is shocking. It is tragically sad for Americans who aspire higher.
@jasonburton24@mattlabelle I don't think you appreciate the remoteness of most of these fires, and just how large these fires are. Aircraft cannot put out such fires. At best, they might limit the spread a bit. But more fundamental, there is zero infrastructure for waterbombers.
@alemannoEU I would disagree because Trump is so thin skinned. Being publicly humiliated like this will cause his Maga supporters to turn on Italians, as we are already seeing.
@mobbs_mentality@KaterynaLis Give it a break. Trump doesn't care what anyone in the administration says about Russia and Putin. Why, you may ask? Because everyone knows that Trump adulates Putin. So why are you always absolving Trump of any agency?
Why ask, NATO is a defensive organization. In any case, after the previous bombing campaign with Israel, he thought it would be a walk in the park, another Venezuela. And since he does not like to share the limelight or credit, he did not build any coalition. Now that he has failed, he wants to share the responsibility for the tragedy that he caused.
Mead's post does not make sense (it is ridiculous). Almost the entire US military has been deployed for decades to limit Soviet/Russian expansionism and influence around the globe. Trump siding with Putin is a 180 turn around and a betrayal to US history and policy of not supporting autocrats.
Trump is also incoherent in trying to be a pal of Putin but then says he must have Greenland to counter Russia's threat. If Trump had supported Ukraine, the Russian threat would disappear forever... with no loss of US lives.
@LongForSpring@magic8vol@OJoelsen First, I am not left. Second, you have not shown one scintilla of proof that Russia or China are military threats to Canada... and repeating the same nonsense over and over again without proof is "tin foil" thinking.
This thread started with a spurious claim that Canada is safe from "adversaries" because of the US. You have not shown one instance where the is true.
reducing yourself down to "Infiltrations" is "tin foil" hat level. There is not a single credible source that shows "infiltrations" as credible threat to Canada.
Furthermore, Russia is an almost bankrupt country and on a steep slope to geopolitical irrelevancy. They are not even "a gas station masquerading as a country" anymore. Anyone who says that Russia is a threat to Canada is not a serious person.
Nothing you posted demonstrates a military threat to Canada.
Russia says lots of stupid things... like they were going to conquer Ukraine in 3 days. They are zero threat to Canada, the country is an economic basket case. They have also lost all their middle east allies.
China, likewise, cannot threaten Canada in any military way.
@LongForSpring@magic8vol@OJoelsen Please take a look at a globe, China can't "invade" Canada. It doesn't even have a blue water navy.
Russia is a joke. Putin can't even defeat a much smaller country on its borders after over 4 years of invasion. To even imagine that Russia could invade Canada is ridiculous.
