Amnesty International has warned that at least 60 protesters from Iran's January uprising are at serious risk of execution. Iranian authorities have already executed at least 9 PMOI members and at least 30 protesters since March 18, 2026.
This is not a display of strength but of a regime terrified of an organized resistance movement and a continuing uprising — one willing to execute even children to intimidate society.
The UN and its relevant bodies, as well as the EU and its member states that oppose capital punishment, must act immediately to halt these executions and save the lives of death-row political prisoners.

In a horrific crime this morning, the clerical regime publicly executed two defiant protesters, Amir-Hossein Safari and Abolfazl Sepahi, in Isfahan, Iran.

By carrying out these medieval public hangings and relentlessly executing Iran’s youth, this religious dictatorship desperately hopes to stem the tide of rising public anger. However, these atrocities only harden the resolve of Iran's rebellious youth to overthrow this bloody regime.

Once again, I urge the United Nations, human rights organizations, the EU, and member states to forcefully condemn this atrocity. Immediate, effective action is required to halt the regime’s killing machine and save political prisoners on death row, especially 8 other young men facing imminent execution in Isfahan.

International silence and inaction are seen by Tehran as a green light to escalate its killings. The regime's record of atrocities must be referred to the UN Security Council, and its leaders brought to justice for crimes against humanity.

After a 16-day hunger strike by 1,500 death-row prisoners in Qezel Hesar Prison, the regime's judiciary was forced to retreat: executions in the unit were halted, six prisoners returned from solitary confinement, and the authorities promised that all death sentences will be reviewed within six months. This victory shows that persistence and steadfastness are the only answer to the theocracy's execution machine.
