Caring isn’t just my family's story, it is the story of millions, caring for each other, dealing with tough times, and keeping going with love.
Sharing our story hasn't been easy, but it's important. It's time to bring carers' experiences into the light.
'These carers are basically keeping the country going, it can be quite a lonely and dark place at times'
Lindsey Burrow, whose husband Rob is living with MND, told #BBCBreakfast about her plans for a book highlighting the role of unpaid carers called 'Take Care: A Memoir of Love, Family & Never Giving Up'

Kieran McKenna 🙌 sustained good decision-making over two seasons. Building squad, preparing team and in-game decisions. Calm and determined. Now a point away from @premierleague. Good board and chief exec, too, all working as one to drive #ITFC on and up.
The ‘Ipswich are so lucky/efl scripted’ narrative every week from ex-premier teams has been quite grating😒, so I thought it was time for my 1st X thread!
Rather than looking ONLY at times we’ve benefited, here’s a tale of true stats, with a few of our ‘unlucky’ decisions. #itfc
“There are no shortage of reasons for this wretched government to call it a day, but this may be the most damning of all”.
The great @johnharris1969 on excoriating form on the endless scapegoating of parents of disabled and vulnerable children. https://t.co/AsaNJPLjAS
We started the new year by highlighting the intolerable pressure unpaid carers are under on @BBCBreakfast
Unpaid carers desperately need more support to look after their own health and wellbeing.
This and future Governments need to do much more.

Being a carer, quite often means giving up your career, your pension, your career progression. Being a carer goes beyond the normal "mum or dad" hours, or the normal "mum or dad" years of taking care of their child. A parent will always help their child regardless of their age 🧵
2024 must be the year that social care is fixed. Politicians must break the habit of a lifetime snd see social care as skilled work & make investment a high priority. Social care delivers social inclusion to the most marginalised. It’s time for recognition, investment and reform.
