Likewise I think supporting the free market no matter what is silly also. When there’s market failure it’s necessary for the government to intervene. Idealogical purity doesn’t get us anywhere, we need to be pragmatic and versatile.

It’s like Scandinavian countries have a strong private sector in order to fund high quality social programmes. Without the creation of wealth you have free services but low quality services, which is why socialism has never worked.

Capitalism is inherently good at creating wealth, not so good at distributing wealth equally.

The existing high level of inequality is a failure of public policy, not a failure of Capitalism.

So sick of this argument that just because I believe in government operated public transport means it’s hypocritical to condemn socialism. No that is not socialism, as without the private sector funding high quality transport wouldn’t be possible.
