Last week I joined scholars, business leaders, policymakers and practitioners at the Academy of International Business Africa Conference hosted by @SBSKenya Strathmore Business School.
What stood out clearly is that in a world increasingly defined by uncertainty and complexity, Africa’s experience is becoming not just relevant, but a source of insight for global businesses.
Complexity is now an accelerator driving faster innovation, new business models and globally relevant solutions rooted in local realities.
From the continued evolution of M-PESA as a platform for financial inclusion and innovation, to the critical role of public-private partnerships, supportive policy environments and human-centred technology, the opportunities before us are immense. Realising them will require bold thinking, collaboration and a shared commitment to inclusive growth.
I was encouraged by the depth of discussion and the exchange of ideas on how Africa can continue to lead through innovation, resilience and entrepreneurship.
My sincere thanks to Dr. @VinceOgutu, Vice Chancellor of @StrathU, Professor Ben Ngoye, Conference Co-Chair, and the entire Strathmore Business School team for convening such an important forum and for their warm hospitality.
The future of Africa will not be defined by what happens to us, but by what we choose to build together.

The Law Society of Kenya expresses its deep consternation following reports of the sudden and deeply suspicious death of 24 year old Brian Njung'e, a student at Kiambu National Polytechnic, while under detention at Kiambu Police Station. When a citizen is arrested, the State assumes a strict, non-delegable constitutional custodial duty of care over their life and physical integrity. A police cell must never become a place of unexplained fatality.
The circumstances presently being reported, including the family allegedly being denied access to him shortly before news of his death emerged, make it imperative that there be full accountability and public disclosure of the facts.
The @LawSocietyofKe is actively reaching out to Brian's family to offer comprehensive legal support and ensure a mandatory public inquest is conducted. We will not permit the normalization of custodial deaths or the evasion of administrative accountability.
A year since his election, Pope Leo XIV has established himself as a quiet presence with a strong message.

You're going to Mass daily. You're praying the Rosary. You're reading Scripture, going to Confession, doing everything the saints tell you to do.
And you still struggle with lust.
If that’s you, I want you to know something: you’re not alone, you’re not broken, and there’s a reason this is happening. Let me explain. 🧵 1/

Today as the Roman Catholic church commemorates all Souls day, my prayers and thoughts go to all those who lost their loved ones in the Marakwet East landslide (Kenya).
May the souls of those who perished rest in eternal peace.
I think all word organisations that are mandated in the protection of human lives need to intervene and help those suffering in Sudan, and all other parts of the world experiencing war. @idualliance@UNHumanRights@antonioguterres@_AfricanUnion
