Many people believe it is impossible for the U.S. to balance its agricultural trade deficit.
Farm Action’s Sarah Carden shares a shocking stat that it could actually be done by shifting a minuscule fraction of cropland towards fruit and vegetable production.
“They were projecting in 2024, a $32 billion agricultural trade deficit.”
“Because specialty crops are more valuable, you would only need to shift about 0.4% of the cropland into specialty crops just to balance that trade deficit.”
Maddow: @KenMartin73 won the DNC chairmanship because of his track record—in the 14 years since he took over as MN state party chair, Democrats have won every statewide and governor's race there
Congratulations to our incoming ASDC President @janekleeb -- Chair of the @NebraskaDems -- who was unanimously elected as President today by State Party Chairs and Vice Chairs from across the country and around the world! 🎉
My name is Reyna Walters-Morgan, I’m the former Director of Civic Engagement and Voter Protection at the Democratic National Committee and I’m proud to announce that I am running for DNC Vice Chair for Civic Engagement & Voter Participation!
Thank you to @mcbyrne for being the first person to encourage me to run for vice chair of the DNC. Thank you to my incredible campaign team for making this win possible. Kevin, Sarah, Ryan, Brianna, Anatole- you guys were constantly pushing for me to make more calls to members, managed our whip operation and kept me fed/hydrated these past few days. Without you I wouldn’t be a vice chair. Thank you to the young Dems, the high school dems and the college dems for your support and sticking with me through EVERY single round. You had my back and now I got yours.
note about dnc elections:
members were going to vote for multiple vice chair candidates per ballot until a gender balance issue prompted a last-minute rule change. most members promised coveted first-ballot support to both their preferred male and female candidate. /1

Donald Trump and his transition team are already breaking the law.
I would know because I wrote the law.
Incoming presidents are required to prevent conflicts of interest and sign an ethics agreement.
This is what illegal corruption looks like. https://t.co/JJjJ59DgB5
Folks, vote the first day of Early Voting! Don't wait! This helps the candidates you like expend their limited resources on folks who might be less likely to vote.

@RepGillespie, if you actually took the time to meet with Constituents more regularly, maybe you wouldn't have to recycle photos of you knocking on doors from two years ago.
If my opponent wanted to give law enforcement the tools they needed, he would not have voted for billions in corporate tax cuts (more than half to out of state corporations) & directed that money towards more officers w/better pay, as well as building a crime lab here in Memphis.
Now that they were recruited and qualified for the ballot, the real work of getting them elected begins. This requires more than retweeting and posting on Facebook. Get ready to knock on doors!
Let’s get ready to work 📢
100% of U.S. Senate Races (1 of 1)
100% of U.S. House Races (9 of 9)
75% of TN Senate Race (12 of 16)
74% of TN House Races (74 of 99)
This is the largest number of Democrats running in TN during a Presidential election year since 2004. 👏👏👏
Dems react to the lawsuit from @tndp executive committee members attempting to remove “ex-officio” seats, which include Young Dems, High School Dems, etc
As @scbowerstn notes - one lawsuit filer, Randall Rice, was an ex-officio member himself for over half a decade.
