A lot of my mentees were asking me how to deal with their parents pressuring them to leave pressing their laptop and make money, when they Infact are looking for jobs.

I then asked my mom if she understood the nature of my job when I started, she said NO. I asked why didn’t she use to shout when I started.

She told me she’s educated and a teacher so she understands that my generation is different for hers so she wanted to learn and understand how it works first.

I asked her how should they handle their parent’s pressure, she said:

1. Try to make them understand.
2. If number 1 isn’t working, Rebel, they’ll be fine.

This morning conversation has made me realize that I was/am privileged.

I’m very grateful for that.
