On Friday 15th May 2020 at 1 pm we held a minute’s silence on our ward (and throughout our hospital) in memory of those who died from Covid - little did we know that the PM & friends were enjoying a garden party that same afternoon.
Little reminder for everyone (including myself) who works in healthcare. It’s still busy, it’s hectic & there’s still no end in sight. We continue to show up as our best selves for our patients. But we can’t keep this up without showing ourselves the same level of #kindness.
On the day in question, we were having to time limit visits of next-of-kin on ITU to a max of 15 mins (with a stop-watch)..some didn’t survive. We owe it to them for the Police to investigate….which should NOT be difficult as there is a log of all those who entered Downing St.
