Node Network Update

We’re marking a solid step forward for the QuStream node network.

• Test Phase Round 1 has officially wrapped, with contribution data and reward allocations now available in the operator dashboard.

• Round 2 is now live, opening a new contribution cycle for all operators.

• The account dashboard has been updated with Test Phase tracking, along with UI improvements and fixes based on operator feedback.

• A major focus of this phase has been strengthening the nodes and preparing the network for live deployment.

• All operators are required to pull the latest QuStream node image and restart their nodes. Older images will no longer connect to the Round 2 network.

• Round 2 contributions will be based on verified productive node time, with updated tracking reflected in the dashboard.

This Test Phase is exactly for this purpose: running the network in real conditions, surfacing issues, improving the operator experience, and hardening the infrastructure ahead of launch.

A security decision made with five years of runway is architecture.

Crypto-agility is the ability to swap algorithms when the old ones are no longer trusted.

That is useful.

But it is still a strategy built around one assumption:

you may have to migrate again.

Computational cryptography works because certain mathematical problems are believed to be hard enough to solve.

As computing capabilities and cryptanalysis advance, those assumptions and security parameters have to be re-evaluated. Sometimes the answer is a bigger key. Sometimes it is a new algorithm. Sometimes it is another full migration.

That is where QuStream takes a different path.

In information-theoretic security, confidentiality does not depend on an attacker being “too slow” to solve a mathematical problem.

It depends on the attacker not having enough information in the first place.

QuStream’s architecture is designed to use secret state, single-use confidentiality material and continuous state evolution so that, in suitable deployments, long-term protection is not tied to the lifetime of one computational hardness assumption.

That is the difference between agility and stability.

Agility says:

when the algorithm stops being enough, replace it.

Stability says:

design the system so the confidentiality model does not need to keep changing every time computational assumptions do.

For long-lived infrastructure, that can be a much more powerful property.

🚨 ROCKTON, ILLINOIS: 8-MONTH-OLD FRENCH BULLDOG COLLAPSES AND DIES FROM EXTREME HEAT WHILE UNDER AN OFFICER’S WATCH - OWNER PLEADS FOR OVER 30 MINUTES FOR HELP

On a hot, 97-degree day, Collazo Gonzalez was pulled over for speeding and detained for driving with a suspended license. Gonzalez stated that he did not know his license was suspended.

Officers detained him and instructed him to call a family member for a ride because his vehicle was going to be towed.

We requested all camera footage through an open records request to find out exactly what happened next.

The result was a clear message from Rockton PD to me and my team:

“You’ll only get what we want to send you.”

They redacted nearly the entire written report. They also redacted very strange portions of the bodycam footage, including a portion where, allegedly, Gonzalez’s aunt was telling the officer over the phone to at least give the dog some water. She also told the officer, “The dog is gonna die if they don’t do anything.”

There were other portions of the bodycam footage that were redacted as well.

Gonzalez was pulled over at 12 : 40 pm. When he was pulled over, Kody, his 8-month-old French Bulldog, was already panting.

When officers removed Gonzalez from the vehicle, they left Kody inside the non-running car for more than 20 minutes. During the process, Gonzalez asked if they could please put Kody in one of their police cars.

He was ignored.

At 1 : 02 pm, Kody was finally placed in the back of the police vehicle with Gonzalez. The AC was not on.

When one of the female officers came to check on them, Gonzalez begged her for air. She turned on the air, but it was not cold.

For the next 15–20 minutes, you can see Kody in visible distress. I have looked over every minute of this footage. And I cried.

I haven’t cried watching bodycam footage in a long time. This made me cry.

And if anyone wants the file, I’ll happily provide it.

Then, approximately 30 minutes after being placed in the back of the hot police vehicle, another male officer finally comes to speak to Gonzalez.

He listens as Gonzalez pleads with him over and over again while he stands there and doesn’t budge to help.

In additional footage, you can see Gonzalez, with his clearly distressed dog, attempt to head toward a nearby house to get water. He is stopped by the officer so they can read off his citations.

All while there appears to be no urgency for Kody.

They then offered to drive Gonzalez several minutes to a nearby convenience store - not an emergency vet.

And in this footage, they REDACTED anything said about the emergency involving Kody, but the sound came back in when they were discussing Gonzalez’s citations.

I will share another video in the thread with more context regarding this.

Unfortunately, Kody later passed away in Collazo Gonzalez’s arms.

Gonzalez has retained an attorney and has actively tried to raise awareness about what happened to Kody.

Old incandescent desk lamps fixed people’s vision better than specialized red-light devices, and the effect lasted two months.

Dr. Glen Jeffery’s team took a windowless university space full of harsh LED lighting and simply placed the lamps around. No special protocol, staff just worked, ate lunch, used the bathroom as usual. Vision was measured before and a couple of weeks later.

The gains were larger than anything they’d seen from targeted single-wavelength red or near-infrared LEDs. Then the improvements held steady until Christmas broke the routine.

Incandescent bulbs put out a continuous infrared spectrum, the closest everyday light we still have to sunlight. Modern LEDs cut most of that out. The study suggests the missing part may matter more than we assumed.

The number of working-age people for every senior aged 65 and older dropped from 7.7 in 1966 to 3.4 in 2022, and is projected to fall near 3. Young people now pay more tax's to support a failing system than their predecessors did and doubtful they will even collect a pension when they reach retirement age as Canada's birth rate is dramatically declining and is producing half of what is necessary to sustain Canada's pensions and healthcare costs.
