@ClaraSlimeGirl@DGDtheSequel@Gaismair@girlbosswoman I knew he was around during the sequels era since he talks about the First Order-Resistance War, but this makes it 10x better. Also, love that he’s played by Dominic Monaghan
@DGDtheSequel@Gaismair@girlbosswoman Yes and it’s awesome. Written by a real-world WWI historian, who writes in character as a Galactic Civil War historian
@DWStweets I attended one of your virtual town halls. You just had your comms staff read off a list of preapproved questions, while ignoring anyone who had anything real to ask. You don’t actually show up for anything, you’re just a puppet
PICARD: Data, shields up
DATA: Brilliant! Shields can reduce damage we sustain. Not immunity. Not hubris. Just prudence. It's not precaution—it's strategy.
[camera shakes]
WORF: HULL BREACHES ON NINE DECKS
DATA: Here's what happened: you told me to raise shields, and I didn't
So we’re roughly two days into @DWStweets announcing she’s seeking office in Congressional District 20, and we’re already watching the contradictions pile up.
She keeps talking about her seniority, her connections, her committee influence, and the “clout” she has in Congress. Fine. But if you are truly that powerful and that well-connected, then why wouldn’t you use that power to help Democrats expand the House map instead of collapsing it inward on itself?
The reality is if Debbie ran in CD22, Democrats would likely hold CD20 AND have a real opportunity to flip CD22 blue. That means another Democratic seat in Congress. That means a stronger House caucus. That means more leverage on the very committees and House floor she keeps bragging about.
Her own messaging does not match her behavior.
You cannot say you care about strengthening Democrats in Washington while making a decision that reduces opportunities for both Black representation and Democratic expansion at the same time.
This decision feels selfish, politically shortsighted, and completely disconnected from the long-term strategy Florida Democrats actually need.
I hope CD20 voters retire her politically for it. 😒
@fred_guttenberg@RepDWStweets This right here is the problem. She wants to be in Congress for 24+ years? Justify it with something other than vague notions of “seniority” and “clout”. Where are her results?
