It was and always was Martin O’Neill for another year.
4 players don’t sign new contracts late in the season under the current manager if he’s outgoing.
Let’s go for #57 varieties whichever way the opposition want it in their faces. We’re coming at you! 🙏☘️💚 #theblessed
59 years ago today, 11 men born & raised within 33 miles of Celtic Park, became the first team from the British Isles to win the European Cup 🏆
After the game, Celtic's manager Jock Stein said: "We did it by playing football. Pure, beautiful, inventive football.”

Martin O'Neill admits Daizen Maeda will leave Celtic with the club’s blessing this summer.
But O’Neill insists the Hoops won’t stand in the 28-year-old’s way this time as the inspirational title hero sets his heart on a dream transfer to the English Premier League. Maeda’s last dance in green and white could come at Hampden in Saturday's Scottish Cup Final.
And a string of other stars - including Kelechi Iheanacho - could also wave goodbye. O’Neill - who has yet to decide whether he wants to stay on as Parkhead boss - said: “If I was around, I wouldn’t stop Daizen from going.
“He deserves it. He has paid his dues at this football club - massively. Daizen’s last seven weeks have been absolutely Larssonesque.
“He has been the galvanising drive for us. He has been amazing. Daizen started to score the goals and the boy grabbed the whole thing.
“Henrik did his seven years and left, although he had told me he was going. Daizen has said that if he could get a chance to play in the Premier League, he would want to. I certainly wouldn’t stop him.
“There will be a queue of clubs wanting him down there now after this recent spell.
“Kelechi Iheanacho has also become a cult hero. If you can do that over four games, then brilliant. Jimmy Johnstone needed eight years!"
