I just got back from a 3-day trip in Massachusetts and it's clear the structure of how we offer hockey there is broken. The town/club model, the way it is now, is not in the best interest of the kids.

I’ve had conversations with a lot of youth hockey coaches and program directors that are scared to coach their top players hard and cater to their parents for fear of them leaving the team and organization.
At the end of the day, not holding your best players or their parents accountable is such a disservice to the kid. They aren’t learning valuable lessons about effort and accountability that are necessary traits to achieve higher levels in the sport.
