@amenya_nelson A new world order? Yes! China as a leader? Maybe. However the idea of democracy is too entrenched and China favors the illusion of it, not the practical part. Its system of governance is known to hang whistleblowers.
@kahome_steve And our CBK held rates (whether politically motivated coz it's an election year that we don't know). Then there's our voodoo KES which has held despite fluctiations with all other currencies world wide. Very soon we will feel economic gravity which never fails.
@kahome_steve Stupid, I would say. Their decision to hold, was more political than economic/monetary logic. Increasing rates in a political year doesn't favor the regime. Unfortunately, due to supply side inflation, rates will eventually rise 'sharply' to catch up with the rest of the world.
@RufasKe Even when other currencies have fluctuated throughout the year, our 'free floating' KES has held as strongly as a Maasai spear planted outside a hut. I wonder what the people will do when they realise what the guy has been doing in the hut with their economy.
@Jamo_@wmnjoya I agree the economy makes it difficult. But let's find time for our children for God's sake. For those in boarding schools, engage them when they close school. Our children are the most important beings in our lives, let's not abandon them 'coz we are too busy'.
@Jamo_@wmnjoya I agree with the second paragraph. The issue I'm trying to raise lies with the basics. A Grade 10 child should know how to read and write. These are the basics to literacy and no matter how 'busy' a parent is, they should have noticed the adequacy of this at Grade 1.
@Jamo_@wmnjoya In short, children should only read and write with their teachers because that's what 'teachers are supposed to do'? You cannot sit with your child for 30mins a day to read with them a simple story book or write a sentence or two? Are you a parent?
@C_NyaKundiH Read between the lines. Some time back a guy on this platform revealed secret militia training grounds in bandit regions to thwart next year elections in security prone areas to destroy the legitimacy of the results. Murkomen is just preparing the country for such an outcome.

@caseyjdonaldson Japan should be selfish and take care of its people for once. If it were the US in a similar situation everyone knows what they would have done. Wait! They already did it with the Plaza accords.
@sholard_mancity On this one, I disagree. You undersestimate Dangote. He's been successful in an environment (Nigeria) that is the most ruthless politically and economically. He's not doing us a favor. If he's building a refinery in Kenya it's because he has seen profits, not Pan-Africanism.
@xysist Great article and very well articulated. This is just half of it. This week alone, the dollar has strengthened against other currencies due to the rate hike but our KES is still at 129. This is what the IMF warned about. You can only play magician for some time. Just ask Turkey.
@Winnie_Byanyima@WilliamsRuto@kizzabesigye1 Why the anger? It's about power. Even the 'fighters for democracy' are fighting for power and if democracy comes as an end result so be it. She's seeking more power to see her husband released and meeting people like Ruto gives her that. Activist like Muteti are just fodder.
@amenya_nelson We know the script. Eritrea will be drawn in and 'The Great Powers' will establish democracy by either toppling the Eritrean govt or put up the largest military camp there and all this to check a group of 'sandal wearing & khat chewing' houthis across the sea.
@KenyanSays Great news. Wonderful news. When MOA went to Mombasa for their handshake to end the fuel strike betraying MAK and akina Chepsoi of RIG owners, they thought they were very clever. Acha wafinywe kabisa. In fact, that mini dictator shouldn't stop with Super Metro. Finya wote.
@sholard_mancity Intervention is rampant only that IMF had 'free floating currency' as part of their loan conditions. Now they've noticed that with the economic conditions due to Iran war, keeping it up is like playing guitar to goats. So, let it be and let economic gravity play it's part.
