@SoxMach_pnoles If Getz DFA’s Benintendi for Gonzalez and he ends up looking like Elko, fans will be furious. Then Getz cycles through options, no one reaches a 50 OPS+, and suddenly people start missing Benintendi. Not everybody can hit 90 or 100 OPS+

@SoxMach_pnoles Benintendi’s OPS+ has hovered around 100 lately. Not great, but still more proven than AAA homer king Elko. We also don’t know what Gonzalez is vs MLB pitching. A short hot streak doesn’t make him suddenly a better hitter than Benintendi.
