Let me summarize why China must wage war against Japan.

1. For the past 3,000+ years, Chinese civilization has been expanding inland, gradually incorporating Tibet, Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia, and other west regions into its territory. 5. Unifying Taiwan is the collective will of the Chinese people, but unifying Taiwan by force would kill tens of thousands, or even more and bomb Taiwan into ruins. Taiwanese people are, after all, Chinese, and Taiwan is Chinese territory. Frankly, the Chinese do not want to do that. However, the Chinese do not have this moral burden regarding Japan. After collapsing Japan, Taiwan will be terrified to pee in the pants, and they will obviously agree to peaceful unification.

6. Collapsing Japan would be more beneficial for China in establishing its ideal Asian order than occupying Taiwan. Imagine that after the military unification of Taiwan, Japan and the United States would certainly seize the opportunity to encourage countries like South Korea, the Philippines, and Singapore to form an Asian NATO, just as Finland and Norway joined NATO after the outbreak of the Ukraine war. 7. The United States is certainly aware of these factors, and providing aid to Japan is inevitable. China's current military strength is sufficient to defeat Japan or the US-Japan alliance in East Asia. However, to prevent the US from escalating to nuclear war after its conventional forces are defeated, China needs to increase its nuclear arsenal to 2,000-3,000 warheads to ensure that Americans remain calm.

8. In fact, if China mobilizes 5 million troops, 10 million drones and robert dogs, 1 million hypersonic missiles, 10,000 fighter jets, 1,000 warships, and 100 submarines (these numbers are not hard for China's population and industrial capacity), and if China has show the determination to fight a third world war with the United States, I believe the Americans will back down. TACO when facing the strong is an American thing, not just a Trump thing. If the British can give up South Asia, the Americans of course will give up East Asia.

9. A justifiable reason is needed for China to initiate war. The best reason, of course, is that Japan, as a defeated nation in World War II, is attempting to develop nuclear weapons, and China will never allow this. Furthermore, both the United States and Japan may face the possibility of severe economic crises in the coming years, and the United States by then may be far weaker than imagined. Of course, China still needs to prepare for a potential World War III with the United States.
