Maturity taught me that not every woman is a Proverbs 31 woman. And that’s okay!
Some are Deborahs: Called to lead, to speak boldly, and to stand on the front lines.
Some are Ruths: Faithful in quiet places, steady when no one is watching.
Some are Esthers: Positioned for influence, courage rising at the exact moment it’s needed.
Some are Marys: Chosen for surrender, carrying purpose before understanding.
Some are Hannahs: Shaped by prayer, strengthened through waiting and tears.
TTPS, this is deeply disappointing ‼️
Where is the compassion for law-abiding citizens simply expressing their concerns and frustrations?
At the end of the day, we are all Trinbagonians, and we deserve better from those entrusted to serve us.
Protect and serve, not intimidate
Everyone is replaceable at work.
Even the ones who stay late. Even the ones who skip meals. Even the ones who give up their weekends and family time. So don’t give your whole life to a company that can replace you anytime. prioritize yourself.
I fell in love with this scripture:
“There will come a time when your tears will fall, not because of your troubles, but because God has answered your prayers.”
— 𝖧𝖠𝖡𝖠𝖪𝖪𝖴𝖪 𝟤:𝟥
Being called “doing nothing” after carrying everything is the part that lands hardest.
The work itself is exhausting, but the erasure adds another layer.
She was not just managing a toddler.
She was managing hunger, noise, embarrassment, logistics, and everyone else’s comfort while he got to remain a passenger.
A 30-second pause should not need defending.
So much resentment starts when one person’s labor becomes invisible because everyone has gotten used to them doing it.
A woman on my flight yesterday switched seats with her husband because their toddler wouldn’t stop crying.
The second she sat down alone, she closed her eyes for maybe 30 seconds.
Just resting.
Not sleeping.
When the husband walked past with the kid later, he laughed and said loudly,
“Must be nice to finally get a break from doing nothing.”
A few people chuckled.
She laughed too.
But something about it felt off because for the entire flight she had been:
holding the baby,
packing snacks,
cleaning spills,
walking him down the aisle,
missing her own meal trying to calm him down…
while the husband watched a movie with headphones on.
And honestly I think that’s why so many women are exhausted.
Not because they’re doing everything alone.
But because they’re doing everything while someone else calls it “nothing.”
Functional depression is real. You work, joke around. Take care of people around you. But mentally you are drowning in your own thoughts and nobody knows it.
I just found a beautiful scripture: Isaiah 41:10.
There will always be trials and tribulations in life, but God will carry you through every storm in your life. And give you strength to make it, even when you feel like you can't.❤️
