@MrOldMan9000 Reaves hasn’t made an all star team. AD joining LeBron is basically the same as Pau Gasol joining Kobe. None of those guys (Luka, Reaves, and AD) was close to Shaq joining Kobe when they both were young and in their prime. I’m an MJ fan but this Lebron hate is a double standard.
@Cardinals If they finish the series strong with another win tomorrow, this Brewers series won’t be a total disaster. I said going into it, don’t get swept or go 1-4 and we’ll be alright.
@DdrennanN@AlexMMM_5@DaniWex I hear you with 2012-2015 Cards. My only point was that the 2022 team (when Pujols came back) was better than any team they had since 2015. I know they made the 2019 NLCS but that felt like a miracle. Angels never had a competent roster, it’s hard for me to compare them to STL.
@Cardinals Closers have to be one of the toughest positions. At least mentally. No matter how many saves someone has, unless they have consistent flawless command of all of their pitches. Nobody will have faith in them in close games. Those power sinkers are hard to keep in the strike zone
@DdrennanN@AlexMMM_5@DaniWex I honestly wondered that myself. Especially seeing Pujols decline during his Angels years. But STL apparently brings the best out of him. When he came back in 2022 that team was better than they had been prolly since 2015. I know they made the NLCS in 2019 but that was a miracle.
@Hoopss That’s like saying “tell me Lebron is better without saying he’s the all time leading scorer”. It’s silly when we bring up debates and try to limit the answers. You can’t tell someone not to bring up their best achievements. When you have to do that, you already know you’re wrong
@Cardinals It’s nauseating listening to the announcers overrate this team. We get an early lead, they start talking as if we’re 20+ games over .500. Then we predictably blow the lead. Everything they say is too soon. They sound like casual homers. Bring back Edmonds. At least he’s objective
@Cardinals I know there’s a lot of season left. But tonight’s game is a must win if they want to have any hope of securing a wild card spot. I get that we are rebuilding but we are also competitive against the best teams. Stop blowing leads. Shouldn’t have to have an 8 run lead to feel safe
@CourtwayDavid Just because the team has played over their heads so far this season, doesn’t change the fact that they’re rebuilding. Their pitching is as good as you’d expect from a young rebuilding team. I get that pitching has been an issue for years. But that was when we wasn’t rebuilding.
@Cardinals The best we can hope for is a split in tomorrow’s double header. But after blowing another lead like this. I’m not sure they won’t lose both. These 5 games against Milwaukee will be the end of any chance we had for a Wild Card spot. This team has been treading water for 2 months.
@Cardinals 4 errors in 2 games. What happened to that “solid defense”? I thought they would lose this game. But losing like this with another blown lead late, no lead is ever safe. This team is worse than their record. Just a matter of time before they start dropping in the standings.
@MasonV7735@Cardinals@KMOXSports I hope you’re right. I like May. He has potential. He’s struggled with consistency. Walks tend to pile up. He gets behind in counts too much which is when teams start raking against him. He has a CG 1 hit shutout this year. Up & down. Hard to know what we’re getting in big games.
@TheTruth8240 I’m not a LBJ fan. MJ is the GOAT. But when it comes to LBJ, there’s 2 sides of the extreme. Both are equally delusional for different reasons. I get that a lot of the hate is to offset the overhype. But this training is why he’s able to play this long. Hate equals no objectivity
@RealSkipBayless Skip really wants this Laker team to be on another level their 1st season without Lebron. So he wants to come up with scenarios where Luka and AR can make the Lakers contenders. He would love it if they won a championship. Would be his proudest moment other than the 2011 Finals.
@DdrennanN@AlexMMM_5@DaniWex Well he was a leader and big contributor for the 2 World Series they won in 2006 & 2011. They won another pennant in 2004 as well. Hard to argue that Pujols was poison to the team overall when they had as much success as they did with him.
@DdrennanN@AlexMMM_5@DaniWex Walker has been good this season. But it’s crazy to say he’s even close to the production that Pujols had during his peak seasons. I didn’t like how he jogged to first base after hitting groundballs either but his overall play made up for it.
@Cardinals Overall I’m happy with how they’ve played the last 2 series. The real rest is now tho. This 5 games against the Brewers will decide the season, good or bad. A sweep or going 1-4 would be disastrous for their Wild Card position. If they can find a way to win 2 games I’d be alright
@Cardinals They’ve played well overall for these last 2 series. If you had told me beforehand that the Cards would win 2 of 3 in back to back road series against the Braves & Cubs. I’d take that anytime under just about any circumstances.
