@realordinarylad Them pesky homeless paupers sleeping rough, being a nuisance, a lot of whom are ex veterans. When it's all been illegal since the 1800s and the authorities have been fining/banning them rather than helping. They forced them to get Covid jobs before allowing them to rough it. 😂
@BedfordHatter@PCollinson24@ECB_cricket Absolutely. There are many sides to any/every story. Although, while I could be entirely wrong, I think Stokes has just pushed the fuck it button and gone rogue due to various events on/off the pitch over the years involving many. Even back to 2017 with himself and before.
@BedfordHatter@PCollinson24@ECB_cricket Reading between the lines and playing Devil's advocate. Everyone will have their opinion on today, and previous events past and present on/off the pitch, involving BS and prior to him. What is clear is the unrest behind the scenes both now and previously with various people.
@piersmorgan Regardless of anyone's opinion on Stokes (and I say fair fucks to him). He seems to have a set of bollocks on/off the pitch and is genuine. Which is more than can be said for the likes of you. Praised for backing him in 2017, but originally condemned him before the facts.
While some may "like a fight" more than others and some are more likely to get involved. The fact that nobody mentioned Deeney was jailed for cowardly kicking people on the floor, while they were trying to slate Stokes, despite him being apparently blameless was ridiculous!
"Some people like to have a fight!" 👀
"That was the reason they had a good night!" 🤔
Troy Deeney points out where the issue may lie in Ben Stokes' behaviour!
@WickfordHatter@Hatter_JH@Richbow79 Naturally there is a lot to a contract, from clauses and settlements. But while any employee may not have got the full pay out of their contract, I'm sure they'll have done very well out of any pay out and not agreed to leave for peanuts within months of signing a long deal.
@teamslikeLuton I'm not even being disrespectful to Wycombe either. We tied down RE on a new deal to protect our asset. We ended up paying him off and appointing MB, paying compo to Wycombe and then paying him off. Both got employed and paid up again since. They've done alright! Fair play!
He bagged a 3 and half year deal at Luton and Wycombe got compensation. He was sacked at Luton after 9 months, and I'm sure with a nice pay out. He then got the Oxford job and I doubt he left without another pay out. I'm sure he's OK and may even return to Wycombe one day.
A reminder Bloomfield walked away from Wycombe Wanderers when he had them in the League One automatic spots.
His CV since, 2 relegations, 9 months at Luton and 5 months at Oxford.
One day, managers will finally realise it. When you have a good thing, keep it.
If both Luton/Oxford paid him a settlement (which I'd assume is the case re: contract length) Matt Bloomfield has had a profitable 18 months or so. Gets a 3+ year deal with Luton and gone within 10 months, gets the Oxford job on another long term deal and gone within 6 months.
Oxford United can confirm the departure of Matt Bloomfield as Men’s First Team Head Coach.
The Club would like to thank Matt for his efforts and wish him every success in the future.
@Hatter_JH@Richbow79 I'm sure he's not feeling to down about it. He signed a lengthy deal with us to replace RE (who has done OK in the same manner), then got a nice settlement when he was sacked. Then got a lengthy deal with Oxford in the Championship, then got the sack and another nice settlement.
@sjdhatters@ben_terrett Agreed. But that's why I'm intrigued as to why that has happened. Not just with SM, but others too. Employers (whether it be BBC/ITV) knew about allegations. Obviously a legal minefield to dismiss for that, but to cover up and then dismiss at a later date raises eyebrows....
@sjdhatters@ben_terrett For me, it's more a case of the murky middle ground. Innocent until proven guilty by all means. But yet another case of smoke with or without fire being covered up and then action being taken when it all bubbles over too much. You wonder why the previous cover up/silence?
@ian4downton@SSE_LTFC Not quite. On each table there is apparently a complimentary bottle of one of the Carabao energy drinks EFL clubs are given in exchange for promoting them. It's to be shared amongst the table though.
Those paying £150 per person to attend the End of Season Dinner will be wishing the Club were as generous with the all inclusive drinks as they were fees to agents. No spirits included in the price. I bet "behind the scenes" stories about agent's fees will be a no no! 😂
Luton Town were by far the biggest spenders on agents' fees from all the League One clubs this season. Only six Championship teams shelled out more than the Hatters as well. https://t.co/FBlUAj2Dho
@mikejt67 Rumour has it he got a good deal on some frozen Aunt Bessie's nearing their sell by date so it's 3. The champagne is also the cheap stuff left over from hospitality we couldn't sell and the included beer is the on the turn stuff we haven't shifted with 25% off at the ground!
@mikejt67 Decent banter, I'll give them that. Maybe if we'd only paid £3m in agent's fees they could have even scrapped the restrictions on spirits from the all inclusive bar! 😂
Only a matter of time before Luton claim the draw away at FA Cup Quarter Finalists, Port Vale, was a valuable point in our quest for League One survival and escaping a third successive relegation.
