JD Vance — a soldier. A boy from Appalachia who served his country in uniform before he ever served it in office.
Trump looked at him and said — you will stand beside me.
Pete Hegseth — a soldier who gave everything on the battlefield. Two Bronze Stars.
Trump looked at him and said — you will lead our military.
Marco Rubio — the son of a bartender and a hotel maid. Two immigrants who came to America with nothing.
Trump looked at their son and made him the first Latino Secretary of State in American history.
My wife heard all of this tonight and said, "Do you understand what Trump actually did?
He did not build a powerful administration.
He built an unbreakable one."
Because every single person in it knows what it feels like to have nothing. And people who came from nothing never take anything for granted.

🚨 BREAKING: Senator Darline Graham says she will BLOCK the Senate's 37-day summer vacation until the SAVE America Act gets a vote.

The Senate plans to leave Washington after the first week of August and stay away until September 14. That is a 37-day vacation, paid for by the taxpayers, while election integrity sits unfinished on the calendar. The newest senator from South Carolina looked at that schedule and said no.

"President Trump is 100% correct. The SAVE America Act is top priority. I will stay here as long as necessary to get it passed and signed into law," Senator Graham said Monday. "I came to Washington to fight for the people of South Carolina and deliver on our conservative agenda."

Senator Graham took her oath on July 14 to complete the term of her late brother, Senator Lindsey Graham. Plenty of people in Washington wondered what kind of senator she would be. She gave them an answer before her office nameplate arrived. The first bill she cosponsored was the SAVE America Act, and now she is willing to give up her own summer to see it passed.

The bill asks for what most Americans assume the law already requires. Show a photo ID when you vote. Prove your citizenship when you register. Keep noncitizens and other ineligible names off the voter rolls. American elections belong to American citizens, and this bill would write that principle into enforceable law.

She has strong company. President Trump said Monday that the Senate should not leave town until the bill reaches his desk. Senator Mike Lee was the first to threaten an objection to the recess, and Senators Jim Banks, Tommy Tuberville, Ashley Moody, and Rick Scott have joined him. The pressure on Senate leadership grows by the day.

Leadership answers that the votes are not there. Conservatives have heard that excuse for forty years, and it has buried more good legislation than any Democrat ever managed to. Votes materialize when a leader puts a bill on the floor and makes every member answer for it in public. Senators who oppose securing the ballot should have to say so on the record, in front of the voters who sent them there.

Senator Graham could have spent her first month learning where the elevators are. Instead she picked the one fight her constituents care about most and refused to blink. South Carolina is well served.

Call your senators this week. Tell them to stay at their desks until the SAVE America Act is law!
