Step back in time at The Shore, Leith ⏳
Today, The Shore is known for its waterfront views, restaurants, and lively atmosphere—but over a century ago, it looked a little different. In 1910, the same stretch of water was lined with ironmongers, horse-drawn carts, and small boats. Some details remain, others have changed, but the Water of Leith still flows through it all.

@EdinburghRugby So... who's the guy in the blue green jacket and yellow hat employed to stand in front of the time clock in the SE corner of Hive Stadium. He's doing an excellent job!
6 Chancellors in 6 years. 6 Health Secretaries in 5. 9 Education Secretaries in 9. If they were a Head Teacher, their school would be in Special Measures. If they ran a branch of a bank, they’d be under arrest. A disgraceful rabble unfit for office: take them away!
Rain stops play on our task in Currie today - with path drains overwhelmed and the river rising rapidly our drowned rats...sorry volunteers juts managed a few hours wombling and drain clearing. Literally out all weathers!!
Treating my spouse this Valentine’s evening with a spiced lamb pâté en croûte, served with warm Scottish potato salad and haricot beans in a tomato jus.
Have you seen our #weirremovalweek campaign on our platforms yet? Our map below (based on SEPA info + local data) shows the extent of the barriers in the Forth. It's estimated around 72% of the Forth’s barriers are impassable to local and migratory fish! 😱
Have volunteers will :-

Plant willow to stabilise the banks

Seals are often a common sight in Leith docks, but it's a first for us to hear one has worked it's way up to Redbraes weir.
Hopefully just on a fishing mission and will head back to sea after it's checked out the scenery.
@ScottishSPCA have been informed just in case.
