My second selection from Around The Sun is the politically charged The Outsiders.
Delivered in a quieter style there is space for Michael Stipe's vocal to take centre stage, I am not sure about the rap verse from Q-Tip its still an excellent song.

Five tracks posted from my album of the week, The Path by Show of Hands.
A musical journey around the South West coastal footpath in this excellent, instrumental album that captures the atmospheres and soundscapes of key places around the West Country.

JC Album Of The Week:
My final selection from The Path is the track Golden Cap.
Named from the highest point on the South coast this is another instrumental reworking of another classic Show of Hands song, The Blue Cockade.

My penultimate selection from The Path is an instrumental version of the Show of Hands classic, Cousin Jack.
Named Port Isaac for the abum, the track marks the Cornish town brought to prominence by the shanty group Fisherman's Friends.

My third selection from The Path is Carbis Bay, the name taken from the popular holiday destination.
Show of Hands mark this part of the coastal footpath with a light, jaunty melodic track that captures the beautiful atmosphere of the bay.

JC Album Of The Week:
Todays selection from The Path is the track Lands Ends. Show of Hands capture the rugged beauty and isolation perfectly with this atmospheric piece.

This week we return to my Show of Hands collection with their 2003 release, The Path, an album that marks 25 years of the South West coastal footpath.

My first selection is the opener, Foreland Point.

My final selection from Judgement is the stunningly beautiful song, One Last Goodbye.
The song was written about the passing of Helen Cavanagh, mother of Danny & Vincent, the creative duo of Anathema, who died during the writing of Judgement.

My penultimate selection from Judgement is the title track from the album. A song that builds from an atmospheric keyboard opening and builds to a chaotic manic guitar blast, showing the progressive direction Anathema were moving in to.

Today's selection from Judgement is the brief but hauntingly beautiful song Parisienne Moonlight. A song about the pain of seperation with lead vocals by Lee Douglas whose wonderful voice came to define Anathema until their end.

Today's selection from Judgement continues the deeply personal and emotional feel of the album with the track Make It Right.
Delivered with a melancholic vocal alongside soaring keyboards and gentle atmospheric guitars the song is a gem.
