I began my trip in Belfast & kept going roughly northeast to Carrickfergus.
In Carrickfergus I did the Victoria Road to Coronation Road, met a blind pig farmer named Eumaeus & visited the @SecretBookshelf😂

@adrianmckinty Nice piece. I recently read Drood and really enjoyed it, and The Terror was excellent. I’ve always eyeballed Hyperion but shied away from it, thinking it might be dated. You’ve convinced me to give it a go.

@BillMelugin_ @FoxNews October 1984, the I.R.A. attempted to assassinate Margaret Thatcher at the Brighton Grand Hotel. The IRA stayed in the hotel the week prior and left a bomb in place. Thatcher survived. Five others were killed. I hope someone on the Secret Service team is a student of history.

Loved both books, but really? I think the Churchill biography comes out on top. The man physically fought in four wars, was in the last cavalry charge of the British empire, and had one of the most amazing political comebacks ever. Robert’s Churchill biography is such an exciting read. I think Churchill might actually be “The Most Interesting Man In the World”. 😁No?
