Professor of Mathematics, punster, cat steed, Working On A Novel but never seems actually to write. Vaxxed and masked. My opinions ≠anyone else's. He/him.
@Anthony_Bonato Well, (2, 4) is very ambiguous. A point in R², an open interval in R, or gcd(2, 4). I'd use gcd(2,4) for the first and lcm(2,4) for the second.
@moniza_hossain I have no intention of making a blanket recommendation. Some marriages are great, some are not, and if you can find a good partner then go for it. But marriage for the sake of being married can be a terrible mistake.
@matinintoronto@FixingEducation Nah. They'd do a crap job for about a third the hours required, and then ignore complaints about their performance to say, "See? I told you it was easy!"
@Anthony_Bonato Quite a few; geometric series, for instance. But the fact that for any sequence of digits there is a power of two, as well as a prime number, beginning with that sequence was amazing.
@sqiouyilu Ours eat ribbon and rubber bands. I suppose they just think it tastes good. We have another who will nibble on the plastic of plastic bags. We've found bits of tinsel in cat poo before, also. Go figure!
@Anthony_Bonato Are we talking *required* courses or electives? I'd make more courses electives, personally. But a second course in linear algebra, baby real analysis, intro to complex variables, graph theory and combinatorics (whether one or two courses), and so forth, are all useful.
@Mrs_Meowmerz@marisummerss If you have programming experience, Python will be easy. If you don't have programming experience, then Python with Calculus 3 would likely be a challenge.
@SJFriedl@Anthony_Bonato That was when I used troff to typeset my first paper and some tests and such. I switched to AmS-TeX for the dissertation, and to LaTeX as soon as I understood what it could do.
