In Loving Memory of Deputy Andrew Nunez
With heavy hearts and profound grief, we honor the memory of San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Deputy Andrew Nunez, who tragically lost his life in the line of duty on October 27, 2025.
Deputy Nunez served with unwavering commitment, courage, and deep compassion for the community he vowed to protect. His bravery and sacrifice reflect a life dedicated to safeguarding others, even at the greatest cost. Such devotion will remain forever etched in our hearts.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and fellow deputies as they face this unimaginable loss. May they be surrounded by comfort, lifted by the love of their community, and strengthened by the legacy of honor he leaves behind.
Rest in eternal peace, Deputy Nunez. Your watch has concluded, yet your spirit, service, and sacrifice will live on in every life you touched.
The fight to make public safety a priority in CA isn’t just about one law to me. It’s my life’s work. And this fight has been going on for years. Just look at CA over the last 15 years with: AB 109, Prop 47, Prop 57, the dangerous laws coming out of Sacramento, defund the police, Chesa Boudin, George Gascón and Pam Price. These laws and these selfish politicians have made CA worse not better.
When actual elected leaders are arguing about saying buying a 15-yr-old for sex is a felony but buying a 16-yr-old for sex can be a misdemeanor-you know the political system is broken. These are children! When your government doesn’t even want to impose the harshest punishment for people who victimize children, your government has failed. Your official written statements are hollow to me. They are all about you-not the victim.
As a Dad and as an actual prosecutor who fights for children everyday, I am telling you we have gone way too far to one side regarding public safety and criminal justice. We are not safer. We must have communities that are safe to raise our children and families here in CA. That isn’t political. It’s an actual right that all of us here in CA have.
If you only care about yourself and you are beholden to your political party over the safety of actual children, you just need to leave public office. You are there for all the wrong reasons.
AB 379 was highjacked from @AsmMaggyKrell today. The highjackers claim the Author and other “high-level politicians” are spreading misinformation. As your Sheriff, I deal with this daily at the street level. I don’t deal with this issue in a policy committee from the confines of the Capitol building.
AB 379 would have made it a felony to buy sex from a 16 and 17-year-old child. The legislature’s action to remove this protection allows sex buyers to continue to purchase children for sex.
In my agency, we currently have 17 open cases of juveniles being trafficked for sex. This year, we have already rescued seven juveniles from the sex trade.
They are currently getting sexually exploited, and the Legislature made a decision today that the exploitation of these children is acceptable collateral damage.
IT’S NOT.
There is no excuse why one more child has to be sexually brutalized. Our young girls don’t have more time. I was talking about this same issue three years ago from that very same floor. How much more damn time do you need?

Grateful for this amazing opportunity. Basketball means everything to me, and no matter where I play the game, I’ll do so with the same joy, passion and goal - to win championships.
Absolutely on point. Our communities are calling on our elected officials to confront the shortcomings of idealistic reforms and misplaced criticism of policing strategies that identify & bring to justice those who prey upon others and refuse to adhere to societal norms.
This may be the dumbest thing I've ever heard. How dumb are these people? Never complain about women salaries ever again. Make that team fly commercial. Unreal dumb.
While checking for TAP cards this morning at Union Station, our footbeat officers found this 10 inch “knife” on a suspect along with a generous supply of narcotics. Oh yeah, no TAP card. Access Control is key to safety!

Eight-time All Defensive Team, five-time NBA Champion, 1987 NBA Defensive Player of the Year, and 2024 Hall of Fame inductee -- Congratulations Michael Cooper.
Thanks to everybody who donated. We raised 750k. With the matching of the funds that brings the total to 1.5 million that will go directly to the family.
I want to let to our community know Deputy Clinkunbroomer left his family tonight to serve our community. He laid everything on the line to serve us. He wore a uniform just like other @LASDHQ deputies wear, driving in a police car, and he was senselessly murdered tonight.
Column: I once wrote, “the Lakers stink.”…
Six months later, they’re in the Western Conference finals and their description has changed..
The Lakers do not stink…
The Lakers can win an NBA championship.. https://t.co/LbnBuqCQMA
