Vice President Shettima Visits Victims at UMTH
In line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s @officialABAT directive, Vice President Kashim Shettima @officialSKSM has visited the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH) in Borno to commiserate with victims of recent terror attacks.
The Vice President mourned those who lost their lives, while sympathizing with the injured and expressing the Federal Government’s solidarity with the people of Borno State during this challenging time.
Nigeria has endorsed the proposed institutional reforms in the African Union (@_AfricanUnion), with a focus on peace and security governance, strengthening democratic institutions, and ensuring stronger cooperation with international financial institutions and the private sector.
The country also aligned with proposed restructurings aimed at boosting domestic and regional resource mobilisation for affordable development financing and the adoption of a continental framework on reducing inequality, built on credible data, social protection, productive jobs, and inclusive industrial policies, among others.
Nigeria’s position was presented by President @officialABAT through his deputy, Vice President @KashimSM, who represented him at the closed session of the 39th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Vice President Kashim Shettima @officialSKSM has arrived at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, to grace the South East Development Commission Stakeholder Summit holding in the state.
The SEDC, signed into law by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, was created to serve as a catalyst for investment, working closely with public and private stakeholders to create an enabling environment for business, innovation, and community empowerment.
The Vice President was received at the airport by the Governors of Enugu, Abia, and Anambra States—Peter Mbah, Alex Otti, and Professor Charles Soludo—as well as Hon. Emeka Wogu, Chairman of the South East Development Commission; Mark Okoye, Managing Director of the South East Development Commission; senior presidential aides and other leaders from the region and beyond.
Among other things, the Vice President will highlight the Renewed Hope Agenda’s long-term regional development framework, designed to unlock inclusive growth, resilience, and shared prosperity for South East Nigeria.
