Jim Rohn on what actually separates successful people from everyone else:

1. Your mind proves you right. tell yourself you're not capable and your brain goes hunting for reasons you're correct. tell yourself you can learn and grow and it starts hunting for opportunities instead. same brain. you just changed the order you gave it.

2. action creates confidence... not the other way around. most people wait until they feel ready. until the fear disappears. that day never comes. you take the step first, and the confidence shows up behind it.

3. if your goals don't challenge you, they won't change you. average goals produce average effort. stop asking "how do i do this" and start asking "who do i need to become to pull it off."

4. your words become your beliefs. "i can't. i'm not smart enough." say it enough and it turns true. swap it for "i'll find a way. i'm getting better every day." not pretending. just choosing language that moves you forward instead of keeping you stuck.

5. talk to yourself like someone you actually care about. two people hit the same wall. one says "i'll never figure this out." the other says "this is hard but i'll learn." you already know which one keeps going.

6. control what you can, ignore the rest. the economy. the past. other people's opinions. bad luck. every minute you spend there is a minute stolen from your attitude, your effort, your discipline, the only things you actually run.

7. your circle is your ceiling. sit around people who complain and complaining starts to feel normal. sit around people who build and your standards quietly rise. energy spreads. so does the lack of it.

8. failure isn't proof you're incapable. it's proof you're trying. everyone you admire got rejected and knocked down. they just swapped "why did i fail" for "what does this teach me." quitting is the only guaranteed loss.

9. you don't win your dreams, you win the day. success isn't one massive decision. it's hundreds of small ones repeated. one more page. one more rep. one more promise kept to yourself. that's the whole thing.
