On October 1st, 2025 - many Washington businesses, products, and services were subjected to NEW SALE TAXES FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER - including foodbanks, non-profits, storage units, and much more.

You and your family can thank Olympia Democrats for this, they passed SB 5814 after voting to SHUT THE PUBLIC OUT OF THE BUDGET PROCESS, and after 96%+ of over 6,400 people Signed-in CON against the new taxes. All Republicans stood by the people and voted NO.

Many businesses have been caught off guard too, due to lack of awareness of SB 5814 being passed. These new taxes will be directly passed on to, you, the consumer.

State government should be making it cheaper, not more expensive to do business. WA families and individuals will be significantly impacted by SB 5814, which will raise the cost of living in our state even higher.

Sen. Nikki Torres further explains the harm SB 5814 will cause. Enough is enough.
