@MsiDouglas @untypicalboro A big part of this is that movies and tv just can’t do professional sport - it never comes off either at the level of the individual ‘character’/player or the team or the portrayal of the sport itself. Just faintly or majorly ludicrous to anyone with even the least knowledge

@DomShawEcho I worry a little when I see the local media chiming quite so easily on the ‘party line’ together. There are hard questions to ask about the last two January windows and much else. I’d like those asked and to see convincing answers before I’d be happy to endorse this view

@craig_johns @stewallace86 Budget or not? - how do you end up in a play off final against a team with a transfer embargo preventing them from paying fees for transfers at all yet still have an 18 goal striker and a bench with depth. Not so much what you’ve got as what you do with it

@craig_johns Attack is more than just the top two or three. Agree that last season’s first 11 was mostly fine apart from the attack but when Hellberg turned to look at the bench there was largely nowt there. Even putting that right plus the new attack, replacing Hackney and loaners is major

@DomShawEcho @Scottwilsonecho Yep - there’s a lot to do with the squad and team. Plus, an urgent root and branch reform of medical and sports science is required. Whatever squad you’ve got can’t sustain the level of injuries, prolonged recovery and subsequent breakdowns that Boro have had. Prevention key too

@danamalt That’s a good start, Dana - at least that much is absolutely needed. Sarmiento has to be added to the move on/sell list now that we’ve had to take him on. I’d add Strelec to the cash in on too. Plus we need an urgent root and branch reform of medical and sports science

@untypicalboro I like your optimism, Vic - I hope you’re right. One issue - it’s not just a tweak that’s needed, there’s major work to be done and quality to be sourced and acquired right through the team and squad. Gibbo didn’t support Hellberg in January when the right tweak was so needed
