My husband and I went through the McDonald’s drive-thru, and our total was $4.25.

I gave the cashier a $5 bill plus a quarter.

She looked at me, confused, and said, “You gave me too much.”

I said, “I know. This way, you can just give me a dollar back.”

She sighed and called the manager over. He asked me to explain what I was trying to do, so I told him the same thing.

He handed the quarter back and said, “Sorry, we can’t do that.”

Then the cashier gave me 75 cents in change.

California is now the 2nd state to officially recognize 2 Islamic holidays as state holidays and yet the same state officials continues to withhold any equivalent recognition from Good Friday and Easter Sunday the holiest days on the Christian calendar.

One faith is written into the state calendar and the older majority tradition that our country was founded upon, is being left outside it on purpose.
