A truly staggering report aired on Israel’s Channel 14 by @Tamir114
claims that U.S. envoy @MorganOrtagus suggested Israel bomb the funeral of Hassan Nasrallah, held at Beirut’s Sports City stadium, where close to a million mourners had gathered inside & around the site.

Had such a strike taken place, it would have constituted one of the worst mass atrocities in modern history, eclipsing even 9/11 in scale, & would have triggered an international outrage of unprecedented proportions.

This report must raise serious alarm bells for Lebanon’s government, @nawafsalam @LBpresidency, @LebarmyOfficial. An immediate & official demand should be made for documentation & clarification.

If it is verified that Ortagus, who is currently involved in high-level ceasefire negotiations in south Lebanon, proposed targeting a mass civilian gathering, then she has absolutely no place sitting with Lebanon’s military or on any negotiation committee.

Until her role in this is clarified, Lebanon should suspend all cooperation with her. The country’s sovereignty & the safety of its civilians are not up for discussion, certainly not in rooms where such catastrophic ideas are floated.
