@tjhook47@BaseballAmerica That’s not the point. The original post was about mid majors. The reality is the Sunbelt is being elevated, and people are complaining about the SoCon. And it’s all over one team and a coach. Whether you like it or not, the Sunbelt is a mid major and has 5 teams.
@tjhook47@BaseballAmerica 2011 Southeastern Louisiana also.
The problem is there’s a precedent set.
We can’t change things because people like a certain coach/ team. They don’t pass the eye test. It’s that simple and they had a chance to win. Cinderella‘s are special because there’s so few of them.
@tjhook47@BaseballAmerica Yes, because that’s all that matters. You guys can fix it anyway you want, but as a graduate of the Citadel, the SoCon is not a good conference. The reality is college sports is moving past the small conferences and it’s been like that for a while. CofC in 2024 got screwed also.
@KopshoJoe@NCAABaseball@SoConSports@MercerBaseball I don’t necessarily disagree, but I’m saying this is the life of a mid major. I’ve watched the growth of both programs , and the Sunbelt has way more upside. Also, it comes down to the eye test. I’m 35 years old and I’ve heard that my whole life about football and baseball.
@KopshoJoe@NCAABaseball@SoConSports@MercerBaseball I don’t believe the conference shows the strength the schedule that you believe. I also think this year, no matter what we think the Sunbelt has been upgraded to a power six position. The committee clearly likes it and I think that’s due to ESPN influence.
@JohnReynoldsSr@Ua20Matt Never disputing the tradition. But as someone who grew up in the 90s and saw the Citadel’s peak for baseball it’s not close. It shows how much you don’t get out to the rest of SC schools college baseball. Tradition is great and I love being part of this tradition.
@Ua20Matt As someone who graduated from there last December this is incorrect. Enjoy the ride and let these players actions on the field define itself. In the past, you have see more gentlemen in blazers then ball caps. If anything, the gold standard in South Carolina is Coastal Carolina.
@InsideGamecocks Schnall will not leave… good luck with the rest of them
USC is not good and not even close to being back to national picture and I grew up watching up
@erickson_68@votetimscott i’m very proud to keep voting for you as the only republican that actually represents a minority in this damn country. Represent the Loe Country while you will always have to be successful.
@InsideGamecocks He would have to answer the Gary Gilmore. Seeing as he was made the air apparent I don’t think that would go well. Also, they were just in the championship last year and their prime to make a run this year. I love USC athletics, but this is not the right path.
