** HOW TO PRAY:
PLEASE PRAY THAT DAD’S KIDNEY FUNCTION IS RESTORED IMMEDIATELY AND THAT ALL THE FLUIDS THAT HAVE BUILT UP IN HIS BODY FLUSH OUT OF HIM; PRAY THAT DAD’S HEART IS RESTORED AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE
Dad went through dialysis last night around 10:00, which I am very happy about. He was in dire need! He will continue to have that done as needed while we wait for his kidneys to get back online.
Due to several processes, we were not able to take Dad off sedation or the ventilator yesterday, but aim to today. One of the primary concerns is trying to keep any of the extra fluids in his body from collecting in the lungs. The ventilator helps with that. We may or may not try to take him off the ventilator and sedation today, depending on how he does with fluids.
We continue to monitor the pneumonia, but I’m not as concerned about that at this point. Between the ventilator and the antibiotics, I am increasingly less concerned about that, and it sounds like I’m not the only one. One of my questions today was, “I know the 3 antibiotics he got were keyed to the sepsis. Is there any chance they offered ancillary help with the pneumonia?” It sounded like that was one of the right questions to ask, but we don’t have confirmation either way yet. I am optimistic.
As part of this process, there are signs that Dad had a small heart attack. It’s not surprising given how much stress his body has gone through. It’s something that we have to be conscious of right now, but will have to address later.
First things first.
Dad is strong and stubborn. It’s one reason that he’s been able to be… less than optimal with how he has treated his body for years.
Please keep praying without ceasing! GOD GRACIOUSLY HEARS YOUR PETITIONS AND IS GRANTING REQUESTS, through His Son, Jesus Christ. I can not stress this enough.
And I can’t tell you how thankful we are for all of you who love Dad so much that you make such effort to plea for Dad before Him Who died for the sins of the world… Who died for Dad, by name… and loves sinners, our Lord Jesus Christ.
Dad improves daily, all thanks be to God. We can’t wait to be done with this phase and start working on recuperating.
Much love to all of you, and happy Friday. Let’s goooo!!
The entire New Testament leaves no doubt that His verdict will mark a final separation of persons. And this will bring surprises. https://t.co/6frIHBtcfG
As Christians, we are given another future. It is not a posthuman epic, but a future given us in the resurrection of the One who is both God and man from the dead, our Lord Jesus Christ. https://t.co/G3WMthhm9l
