Like you, I’m very critical of what Vance is saying now (see my reply to Schlichter earlier) substantially, but if this is a necessary part of a strategy to moderate-for-morons until after the midterms, if that’s what it takes, I would approve of that.

I hope I am very wrong on this. It’s possible this is part of a very sophisticated grand strategy, but is also possible that it’s as weak and needy as it superficially looks like.

Ceasefire between Hizbollah and Israel? Sure, I can see that – Hizbollah needs time to recover. As does Hamas, for that matter. IAEA inspectors? Just like the JCPOA — amazing new achievement.

Oh yes, and Iran is no longer under real pressure because they have all the money stream they need — around $140 million a day, maybe $75 million of that in profit, and we’re literally helping them get tens and hundreds of billions more — but no worries because it’s not from US taxpayers. (Iran can buy a huge number of ballistic missiles and drones every day with that kind of money, but they won’t because they love peace and diversity and happy vibes far more than obedience to Allah). So cool to see Trump calling out Israel and backing up Iran!

In exchange for these minor concessions from the US, there will be talks, followed by more talks! Happy talks that could open the door to a transformed relationship with Iran, presumably with the Long-rumored friendly Irani moderates, from the moderate Religion of Truth and Peace!

Sounds to me like weak and needy, or delusional, happy talk. Again, I hope I’m wrong on this. Or if not, that the admin change their minds and get both realistic and tough again.

It could easily be majority Muslim in most people’s lifetimes, given welfare subsidies, high Muslim birth rates, polygyny/concubinage, and migration.

Unless there are radical changes, the West is coming to an end, because of its suicidal submission to the Critical Theory Left in policy (mass migration, discrimination, indoctrination) and culture (shaming, suppressing/rewarding birth rates differentially, extreme political rather than factual correctness).
