Quotes - “I tell our athletes that they will reach their goals if they are consistent and intentional. Sam does of both. He shows up everyday and gives his absolute best. He’s the kind of kid that we have to kick out of the weight room because everybody else had left 30 minutes before.” - Director of Strength and Conditioning Kyle Vanden Bosch
“I’m not sure anyone in our weight room gives as much effort as Sam. I can count on him to be the last one to leave at every weight lifting session.” - Head Football Coach Jason Jewell @SamAyala06@FootballBrophy@BrophyAthletics@BrophyStrength@jason247scout
At the Brophy Track Banquet last night I was awarded the most outstanding sophomore athlete for my performances this year. Following my award, my coach spoke about me, my season, and the person I am. I am greatly honored to receive this award.

Your success is not about what you say you value.
It is about what you allow to continue.
Most people think their standards are defined by intention. By what they believe is right. By what they claim they want for themselves. But your life does not organize itself around what you say. It organizes itself around what you tolerate.
And tolerance is not decided in big moments.
It is decided in small ones.
The things you notice and do nothing about. The behaviors you recognize as below your level and allow to continue. The habits you have already judged as weak but continue repeating.
That is where your real standard is set.
Fr. Oliver Invitational - 200m lane# 5
(PR 22.29)
Got to give it to my coaches advice before the race, to get out hard and keep relaxed throughout the race. I felt my start was the star of this race and I’m excited to see where my 200 can go this season.
TRACK & FIELD / Tanner Bice reset his own school record in the triple jump with a best of 45-3 to finish second and extend his record from 44-8. He also finished third in the long jump (22-0.5) and second in the high jump (6-5) with the fourth-best performance in school history.
Ron Mann Classic – 60m Lane #2
(7.26 PR)
Came into this race with a good mentality and hyped up. Hit my goal for the indoor season. I can work on my explosion out of the blocks, but I think my form and long strides carried me through this race.
Kaizen, One Minute Rule
Start so small your brain can't resist.
One push-up.
One sentence.
One minute.
Harvard research shows tiny habits bypass mental resistance and compound over time.
Progress beats pressure.
It doesn’t matter how small the change is. It is progress.
NAU Lumberjack Team Challenge - Jake Shaff - 400m (51.10)
Not exactly what I wanted for my first 400m, but I can’t complain for a preseason opener. My first 100–150m needs work. Going forward I will focus on my start of the 400m. I’m excited for this new season.
